Unknown Spot Removal

Sometimes a spot cannot be identified. The following steps can be applied as long as the spot does not contain any permanent dyes.

Basic Method

1. Remove as much excess residue as possible with a bone spatula.
2. Apply Matrix Orange Power Gel undiluted. Work into the spot with a bone spatula. Tamp and blot with spotting brush and spotting towel. Observe towel for transfer of spot. If no transfer, or very little transfer, is observed move on to next step.
3. Apply Matrix Breakdown POG undiluted. Be careful not to over-saturate the carpet as delamination can occur.
4. Repeat step 3
5. Rinse area with water.
6. Apply Matrix Release undiluted.
7. Repeat step 3
8. Rinse area with water.
9. Apply Matrix Target Tannin Stain Remover.
10. Repeat step 3 then repeat step 9.
