Shave, profile, or scarify floor surfaces up to 16" wide in a single pass with ONE machine!
The SMITH FS351 Self-Propelled Surfacer is designed to make short work of removal jobs large or small. This powerhouse will prepare floor surfaces with controlled surface finishes from CSP3–CSP10. With lockable depth-control settings for consistent removal in the "impact zone," you get up to TWO TIMES faster removal speeds with adaptable changes for diamond shaving, rotoplaning, or carbide scarifying.
This unit achieves thorough removal on any depth or pitch grade with varying height control settings on the front and rear wheels. The adaptable pulley speed changes for correct shaving, planing or scarifying operations. Forward or reverse cutting is available for most removal applications.
The SMITH FS351 is built tough with a newly redesigned all-steel chassis. The 1/4" steel formed drum housing, 3/8" steel side side-plates, and 1" steel deck plate all have an industrial powder coating (yellow and red) for exceptional strength and resistance to chips and cracks. The dual-side drive bearings are designed for extended bearing life. The industrial-grade toothed drive belt system with shouldered sheaves requires no belt tensioner.
Not only is this machine durable and long-lasting, but with its low-vibration drive system and vibration-dampening ergonomic handlebar, it's also comfortable to operate. The handlebar adjusts easily, making it perfect for operators of any height.
Using the FS351 is easy thanks to convenient dashboard controls within close operator reach. The operator can select forward, neutral, or reverse, plus start, stop, depth settings, and drum RPMs.
The lifting and maneuvering carriage is integrated into the height adjustment lever, allowing for rapid maneuvering. You can also disengage the self-propelled drive for close quarter maneuvering, utilizing custom industrial heavy-duty swivel casters for transport.
This machine is best for:
- Shaving surfaces to prevent micro-cracking for new coatings, overlays, or before polishing
- Remove failed coatings, contaminants, coverings, or overlays
- Prepare the right CSP profiles to improve bond strength
