This 4-day course explores mold and sewage remediation techniques, as well as critical safety procedures and regulations designed to protect human health.

Far more than just a “mold class,” the Applied Microbial Remediation Technician course covers common microbial substances encountered by water damage professionals, including mold, bacteria, viruses, and parasites.

What You'll Learn

Throughout the course, your expert instructor will guide you through the following topics:

  • Mold and sewage remediation procedures
  • Environmental microbiology
  • Building containment zones and decon chambers
  • Fecal exposure risks for bird and bat houses
  • Antimicrobial and disinfectant chemistry
  • Microbial remediation sampling, protocol and quality control
  • Documents and regulations (OSHA, EPA, ANSI, etc.)
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • HVAC systems

Course graduates will be adequately equipped to perform microbial remediation services, while protecting the health and safety of workers and occupants.

AMRT is also a required course for professionals interested in earning their IICRC Master Water Restorer designation.

PREREQUISITE: YOU MUST BE CERTIFIED IN IICRC WATER RESTORATION (WRT) TO TAKE THIS COURSE.

Qualifies for 14 IICRC CECs.

IICRC Certification Exam

To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC. Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee prior to or on the first day of class. Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation or have the means to log in at the end of the scheduled class to report to the instructor once exam registration is complete. You will need to provide proof of registration to complete the exam on the last day of training. Please contact the IICRC with any questions regarding this process.

In-Person Classes

In-person classes begin at 8:00am and end approximately at 5:00pm daily. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Manual and all course materials included.
