Concrete Polishing Basics
In these two HANDS-ON days, you’ll learn the basics of coatings removal, surface preparation, and concrete polishing from industry experts. Explore chemical application tips for densifiers and other surface treatments. Learn how to fill joints and repair cracks, spalling, and other damage. Plus get tips for troubleshooting problem floors and variable jobsite conditions.
Class runs from 8:30am – 4:30pm daily. Lunch included.

Concrete Surface Preparation: The Process
Learn the essential steps of concrete surface preparation from start to finish in this two-day HANDS-ON course led by industry experts. During these two jam-packed days, we’ll cover the following areas:
- Surveying the Scene – What to do when you walk on a job and see that there’s more floor than you expected.
- Setting Expectations – How to talk to your customer about their floor and set clear expectations on what can and cannot be achieved
- Mastic Removal – Learn how to remove urethane adhesives, acrylic adhesives, pressure-sensitive and asphalt-based black mastic
- Shotblasting – What’s the best option for the cleanest removal? How to achieve all 10 profiles after removal
- Grinding – What tools are best for which application, and how to deep you need to cut to remove sealer
- Scarifying – Learn what kinds of applications require heavier profiles
- Grind and Seal – What products to use and how to get great results
- Next Steps – At the 80 grit level, what are some things you can add to your process to give the floor the look and coverage you need, including moisture systems, joints, and filler
