How to Remove Furniture Stains from Carpet
Furniture stains are caused by the transfer of varnish onto the carpet when furniture is placed on a damp or wet carpet without the use of foam blocks or tabs. The stain may be impossible to remove.
Basic Method: Option 1
- Apply Matrix Advanced Stain Remover mixing equal parts of solution A & B together. Apply this to the dry surface only.
- Cover area with plastic.
- Allow 24 hours of dwell time.
Basic Method: Option 2
- Apply Matrix Orange Power Gel undiluted. Agitate with a bone spatula.
- Apply Matrix Breakdown POG undiluted. Agitate with a bone spatula.
- Apply Matrix Release undiluted. Agitate with a bone spatula then flush with water.
- Apply Matrix Red Be Gone mixing equal parts of solutions A & B.
- Place a clean white damp spotting towel on spot.
- Press a steam iron set at the lowest steam setting onto the towel. Check the towel every 10-15 seconds for color transfer. Use caution to not transfer actual carpet dye to the towel.
- Rinse with water.
- Repeat steps 4–7 until all color is gone.
Warning and Cautions: Always test material for colorfastness, follow label directions, and never mix product unless specified in the label directions. Each situation reacts differently and results may vary.
